April 29 and 30: CMW Fellows Quartet

The CMW Fellows Quartet perform works by Beethoven, Schumann, and  a new work by Laura Cetilia, entitled Rising, Falling. Laura describes her work as “a concept piece in which a MM7 chord (one of the dreamier sonorities) slowly rises or falls (in this version each note of the chord is played by a quartet member). Meanwhile, the chord is outlined by another sound source (in this case, the quartet’s singing voices) every half step of the long glissando.”

The program also includes Beethoven Quartet Op. 18 No. 3 in D and Schumann Quartet Op. 41 No. 3 in A.
