Community MusicWorks Seeks Three Violin or Viola Resident Musicians for Academic Year 2017-18
Community MusicWorks seeks to fill three positions for teaching artists to join the CMW faculty for the academic year 2017-2018. Founded in 1997, Community MusicWorks (CMW) is a leader in the youth development and music education field, building long-term learning and mentoring relationships between professional musicians, children, and families in the most diverse and underserved neighborhoods of Providence, Rhode Island. Resident Musicians and Fellows teach instrument lessons at no cost to children in the west and south sides of Providence, and perform in a robust concert series throughout Providence and the surrounding communities.
The positions include two part-time Resident Musician positions with CMW’s Daily Orchestra Program, at 15 and 16 hours / week respectively that may include occasional performing with the MusicWorks Collective, CMW’s professional ensemble in residence; and one 25 hour / week Resident Musician position to be a full member of the MusicWorks Collective and maintain a full studio teaching commitment in the Youth Music Program.
