Student Performances

Student Performances

Students participating in Community MusicWorks programming have a variety of performance opportunities. Regularly scheduled Performance Parties bring  CMW families together to hear student performances ranging from solo pieces to large ensemble works. Teachers also arrange neighborhood performances with students – at their churches, in homes, and in public locations such as farmers markets.

CMW also strives to connect students with non-CMW musicians via performance opportunities. Professional guest musicians lead workshops that involve students and  their instruments. Students play alongside adult musicians at events such as the annual CMW Bach Marathon, and special large scale projects involving guest musicians such as Emanuel Ax, Johnny Gandelsman, Jonathan Biss, the Kronos Quartet, to name a few.
