Season 23 Opening Concerts

The MusicWorks Collective kicks off Season 23 with a trio of area concerts in an exciting range of venues!

Join us Thursday, September 12 for the something-for-everyone “560” experience at Mixed Magic Theatre at the Lorraine Mills complex. On Saturday, September 14 the Southside Cultural Center hosts the ensemble for a concert and community picnic on the lawn of the SouthLight Pavilion.  RISD Museum brings the celebration to the East Side for a Sunday, September 15 concert in the stunning Grand Gallery.

The weekend’s program features three pieces by African-American composers: Jessie Montgomery’s Starburst, Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson’s Sinfonietta No. 1, and Five Folksongs in Counterpoint by Florence Price.  We’d love to see you at one, two, or all three events!
