Songs of Darkness and Light: A Family Musical Event

Songs of Darkness and Light is a joyful, family-friendly solstice celebration featuring performances by the MusicWorks Collective and storyteller Valerie Tutson. Step into the festive magic of The CMW Center for a drop-in, interactive experience filled with music, crafts, hot chocolate, and sweet treats!

A highlight of the event is a reading of The Longest Night by Marion Dane Bauer, an award-winning children’s book in which woodland animals try to bring back the sun on the darkest night of the year. In the end, it’s the gentle song of a chickadee that coaxes the light’s return—reminding us all of the power of music.

Drop-in hours from 1:30 – 4:00 pm, with performances at 2:00 and 3:00 pm and interactive crafts throughout.
