MusicWorks Collective: Black Angels

The MusicWorks Collective presents a powerful program centered around George Crumb’s haunting Black Angels, composed during the height of the Vietnam War, along with a piece by Serbian-American composer Aleksandra Vrebalov, whose work ilektrikés rímes echoes Crumb’s groundbreaking soundscape. The concert concludes with Max Richter’s luminous On the Nature of Daylight, composed in response to a moment of profound societal duress in the lead-up to the Iraq War.
