Sing these rhythms in a call and response – each cell repeats, one to listen to, one to sing/clap/play. Focus on loose, loose right fingers for this, and keep the door knob turned! We’ll perform this with the other cellists on the October 28th Skillz Hour.

This is the bass line to a slow, mournful Irish tune. Really feel the three beats in every measure and keep track of your body during these long notes; round, curved fingers, open shoulders and loose wrists. Take the repeat, and we’ll play it twice through. We’ll perform this at our first Skillz Hour on Friday, October 28th!

This is your very first scale – sing along with the piano part before playing it. When you do play it, play slowly, thinking about curved palms, open book, long neck, finger tips and door knob turn. We’ll start improvising on this scale as soon as you are comfortable with it!
