In this new year, the MusicWorks Collective celebrates the music of former CMW colleague Jessie Montgomery. Students will perform D Major Jam, and we’ll revisit 12 Moods, CMW’s commission inspired by Langston Hughes’s Ask Your Mama: 12 Moods for Jazz. The program also features Julius Eastman’s groundbreaking Gay Guerrilla, a bold work imagining liberation and social transformation.
