SUMMARY:MusicWorks Collective Season Opener
DESCRIPTION:  \nJoin us as we start our voyage into Season 27! Our program opens with the Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson Calvary Quartet\, a work from the 1950s that captures the composer’s masterful fluency with Classical and Jazz forms\, with an opening melody based on a spiritual by the same name. Next\, we are excited to premiere CMW cellist Adrienne Taylor’s quartet Lullabies in which Adrienne reimagines two lullabies her mother sang to her as a child and one wholly new one that follows the stages of a young child falling asleep. The MWC musicians come together to close the program with the spirited and richly-hued Estampas Nocturnas by composer Manuel Ponce\, with each movement portraying a different characteristic of nighttime. \nMusicWorks Collective Season Opening Concert\nFriday\, September 8 at 7pm\nTouisset Point Community Club\n10 Touisset Road\, Warren\, RI 02885\nAdmission is free; no reservations necessary
