CMW Fellows Quartet

CMW Fellows Quartet
This December, Community MusicWorks explores music as warmth & solace; a bringer of hope during the darkness of winter. CMW’s Fellows Quartet offers its own contribution with four-voice music drawn from a millennia of musical history – from Hildegard von Bingen & Guillaume de Machaut to György Kurtag & the Danish String Quartet’s Woodworks. Stylistically, these musical voices could not be more different, but they speak with a similar immediacy — emotionally-direct, plain-spoken, and deeply affecting. A special one-night only performance, not to be missed.
Community MusicWorks’ Fellowship Program brings four early-career professionals to Providence for a two-year immersion in urban music education & community-focused artistic practice — these four Fellows perform as members of the MusicWorks Collective, and also present projects of their own design. This is their first joint performance of the 2018-19 season.
