So, I got great news, I got a version of Logic Studio, so I have been messing with Logic again. I used a technique I learned from Henry Kerins, which was to chop up sounds in a song using the slice and scissor tool in Logic.

I then inserted them into the Sampler instrument in Logic, something that Henry taught me back in the Media Lab class, to move the song around where i want the sounds to sound.

I then added a rock/ Hip-hop drum to the song, all done by me =).  Last but not least I thought it was missing some funk, so I added an organ to the song, with a very syncopated rhythm I learned about in Music Lab.

Giga in Gmajor

Hello everyone. I am learning the Bach cello suites here at Guilford, this is the dance like movement, well in fact i have been told it is a dance. Its in 6/8, which means Eight notes get the beat, and there are 6 Eighth notes to a measure. See what pieces you know are in 6/8. For all you Fiddle players Swallow Tail is in this meter. Hey Everybody listening, reading, watching! This is a beat I made on Reason on my mac book pro. Its a program like Logic for all you Media Lab folk. You can use loops and place them on the track and compose a awesome beat. I can time stretch using this program (if anybody in media Lab remembers this your awesome). I took a piano loop that came with Reason and as well as some shaker instruments (maracas) and time stretched them to match. To top it off i added some kick drums and snares and made it into a piece.

I titled it Half Cadence for all you learning CMW kids, because a half cadence is something that comes at the a end of a musical phrase that doesn’t sound complete (or like its not over yet). That happens at the end of every 4 beats in this song. Take a Listen.
