Fred Kelley Scholarship Concert

Jesse Holstein, Sarah Kim, and Miguel Vasquez perform Bach’s Goldberg Variations in an event supporting CMW student scholarships to Apple Hill Center for Chamber Music’s summer program.

About the Fred Kelley Scholarship to Apple Hill:
The fund’s namesake, Fred Kelley, was a CMW supporter who loved chamber music. After Fred passed away in 2007, the Scholarship Fund was formed to honor his memory and send CMW students to Nelson, New Hampshire during the summer break to study chamber music with friends from all over the world at Apple Hill.

The connection between CMW and Apple Hill is strong: Fred’s son, Mike Kelley, is a member of Apple Hill’s ensemble-in-residence; several CMW musicians teach at the center during the summer session; and, thanks to support from the Fred Kelley Scholarship Fund, many CMW students over the years have attended the camp and gone one to work as Camp Directors and Counselors.

Apple Hill’s central mission to bring people of diverse backgrounds and cultures together to study and perform chamber music together aligns closely with CMW’s own mission. It seemed a fitting tribute to honor the memory of Fred Kelley with this Scholarship Fund.

Please join us, and give what you can.
